New Year Day celebrations with Children

A New Year bash with children of IAPA’s Arokiya’s project is in the offing. The program slated for the 29th December, 2011, would consist of sports competition for the children and prizes for the same, with dance and music adjoined in plenty.

Training on Mainstreaming HIV/AIDS
Jan 04-05,2012

The first phase of Training on mainstreaming HIV/AIDS to NGOs would be provided on January 4th and 5th 2012. Under this program 20 NGO personnel from 10 NGOs would be provided. The program would be held at ICSA hall in Egmore.

Children’s Day
The children’s Day was celebrated in a grand manner at Shelter Trust on 12th November, 2011. 26 children from Shelter and 15 from IAPA’s Arokiya project took part. Sports competitions were conducted and prizes awarded. IAPA’s Managing Trustee participated with 5 Rotarians and gave away the prizes and gifts to children

World AIDS Day
The World AIDS Day was commemorated by IAPA on two dates. On 2nd December, 2011,the program was held among industrial workers, with the theme:“Breaking the Stigma & Discrimination” when HIV/AIDS awareness program, IEC, Red Ribbons and condoms distributions, nutrition packs to people living with HIV, signature campaign were undertaken. Nearly 1000 people were covered, which included Industrial workers and general public. The programs were conducted in collaboration with two NGOs, namely REAL and SAVE Trust. On the 10th December, 2011, the program with the theme: Breaking the Stigma & Discrimination” was conducted among women, in collaboration with the NGO, REACH. The first program was observed at Thirumizhisai Industrial Estate and the second program was conducted at INDI Mall.

HIV/AIDS Education program for college students
On the 19th December 2011, an HIV/AIDS education program was conducted for the students of Vivekananda College, Mylapore, which was organized by the college’s Department of Social Work. Nearly 70 students participated and benefitted from the program.
